What are Open Ended Investment Companies

  • Open Ended Investment Companies (OEICS) Like unit trusts, OEICS are collective investment schemes, enabling individuals to pool their money together to meet a common goal.
  • An OEIC is a so called 'umbrella fund', which means that within its overall structure there are many 'sub funds'. Each sub fund has its own clear investment objective.

You should note that your capital is not as secure in the above investments as it would be in a bank or building society account.
